1888 R&S Artistic baseball card (Indianapolis) graded SGC "authentic". The ‘R & S Artistic Series’ is thought to have first appeared in 1888, and were intended to show baseball team uniform styles rather than specific players. They range slightly in individual dimensions. Widths are between 1” and 1-5/8” while the heights are between 2” and 3”. They were originally sold by themselves, rather than as a product insert, as other baseball cards were sold in the late 1800s and through the 1900s.
