1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Honus Wagner from one of the most popular pre-war candy issues in the hobby. This Honus Wagner card is one of two major keys to the set, along with the one featuring Ty Cobb. This 25-card set was issued by the Philadelphia Caramel Co., based in Camden, New Jersey. Each card contains a checklist of the entire set on the reverse, a feature that made this particular issue unique among similar sets of the time period. This card measures approximately 1½" by 25/8" in size. In 1909, Wagner hit .339 with 100 RBI and 35 stolen bases in what amounted to an average year for the Hall of Fame shortstop, who was enshrined after receiving more than 95% of the vote on the very first ballot in 1936.
