Gene Kelly & Eleanor Powell signed vintage 8"x10" photos - both w. PSA/DNA COAs. Kelly inscribed "Good Luck" and Powell inscribed "To Edward Hand Junior High. The best of luck & much happiness to all of you - Always". Eugene Curran Kelly (August 23, 1912 – February 2, 1996) was an American actor, dancer, stage, and television, singer, film director, producer, screenwriter, comedian and choreographer. He was known for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks, and the likable characters that he played on screen. Best known today for his performances in films such as On the Town (1949) also for his directorial debut, An American in Paris (1951), Anchors Aweigh (1945)— for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor—and Singin' in the Rain (1952). Eleanor Torrey Powell (November 21, 1912 – February 11, 1982) is remembered for her tap dance numbers in musical films in the 1930s and 1940s. She was known as one of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's top dancing stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood, appearing in Born to Dance (1936), Broadway Melody of 1938 (1937) and Rosalie (1937). In 1965, she was named the World’s Greatest Tap Dancer by the Dance Masters of America.
