This includes a complete 1964-1965 Mickey Mantle Bat Master Set, which comes with rare Mickey Mantle collectibles. This scarce piece, issued in 1964 and 1965, include the complete "Mickey Mantle's Bat Master" set, is fully intact and in its original box. Never used or opened, this piece measures at 3"x7.5"x19" and includes a 4.25"x6.25" facsimile signed photo, batting average calculator (with Mantle's face on the front), "Secrets of Power Hitting" pamphlet and of course the Bat Master equipment. There are two different versions of the Mickey Mantle Bat Master and each has a variation. This is the first Bat Master version with the Red-white-and-blue Box manufactured in 1964 and 1965. These Bat Master Kits were produced by the Barrett Manufacturing Co. were never marketed because the government felt that they were unsafe. Years later, around 1994 in Oklahoma, some of the games were discovered in storage and sold as a collectible.
After some adjustments made to the method in anchoring the tension-suspended ball, in 1969 the second version of the Bat Master was produced.
This original 1964-1965 Mickey Mantle Bat Master Kit come's complete with a; patented tension suspended ball with anchoring parts, a Mickey Mantle photo with a facsimile autograph and personalized inscription that reads, "Hi Team-mate Thanks for trying Bat-Master. I hope it helps your hitting. Mickey Mantle," a Batting Average Computer Dial, and Mickey Mantle's 12 page booklet "The Secrets of Power Hitting". All three are inserted into plastic pockets stapled to the cover of the box
This is a rarely seen item fully intact, and the Mickey Mantle spinner and Mickey Mantle photograph have value if sold separately.
