First Issue of Sports Illustrated August 1954 - With 27 Card Pull Out Still Intact. This copy is undoubtedly the most desirable Sports Illustrated issue, not only because it was the first issue, but because of the 1954 Topps insert color paper cards included. Some of the notable players in the insert include Willie Mays, Duke Snider, Ted Williams, Eddie Mathews, Richie Ashburn, & Jackie Robinson. These cards are still in pristine white condition and the market has seen cut singles graded over the years. The front cover does have a wrinkle to the far upper right corner, but this of course does not impact the insert within.
