November 2015 Sports Card & Memorabilia Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/23/2015
This is a Max Patkin autographed baseball and autographed card display. The ball is signed in black ink on the sweet spot, and is slightly faded, and the card is signed in blue ink. There is also a pin included with this lot that commemorates his retirement ceremony from 8/18/95. Max is known as the "Clown Prince of Baseball" for his many years as a baseball clown. One time in 1944, he pitched to Joe DiMaggio. Joe hit a homer and Patkin thrilled the crowd by following DiMaggio around the bases while pretending to be angry. Thus, his career as a baseball clown began.
