1959 Marilyn Monroe Type 1 Photo (approximately 8"x10") - Publicity Shot for Movie "Some Like It Hot". Black and white photograph still from Some Like It Hot of Marilyn Monroe in sequined dress and holding an umbrella standing on the dock waiting her ride to see Tony Curtis on his yacht. Some Like It Hot was shot at the Hotel Del Cornado in San Diego, California in 1959. It was Marilyn’s most successful film. In April, May, and June of 1959, it was the most popular film in America. Numbered 221-5 in pencil on reverse. 10 ¼ by 8 1/16 inches, this photo originated from an auction of her estate years ago. Rare Type 1 photos such as this are much more valuable than ones that are common, as this is likely a limited print image.
